Ah yaaaaaas, we all suffer from it, Facebook Envy, that P_erfect image posted by all our friends with their Perfect Lives.

Guess what peeples, it’s loike a movie. The stuff behind that perfect image is messy and requires lots of retakes and retakes and, uh, cleaning up0 cat puke and speel check and editing…

and Photoshop.

So I had this discussion today about that. And someone I know has a great hubby who takes pics of the chaos leading up to the Perfect Picture, and posts that.

Pretty cool.

Here’s the reality.

So, here’s my reality as I prepare to do Yule gifts…

dscn9444web

Bunch a canvas that I couldn’t find for two weeks (cleverly disguised as a plastic bag in garage), beat up plastic bucket with spring to hold brushes in water, pile of half read mail, Moana soundtrack (trying…. to …. learn… Polynesian…. lyrics…. AAAAUUUUUUGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!), phone, always dead, box o crackers for sustenance…

Last year, attempts to take cousin’s kids dogsledding produced this…

But also this…

This,…

more often looks like…

You try for this…

you get…

(love those gale force winds on the beach…)

You’re trying to get this…

you get this…

You search for this…

Image result for moana images

you get…

your cool sidekick turns out to be…

you want this…

you get…

yep

real life and hero journeys are messy….

maybe you should post the messy bits once in awhile…

(photographing Breyers and LOTR characters on Assateague’s North Beach in a howling wind…)

and he did wash out to sea…. and then back in again…

Then there’s crafty stuff… projects always look terrible in the middle…

really ugly plastic horse…

Picture

paint and stuff…

air dry clay…

crap, that didn’t work…

(redo tail like 6 times)

(finally hang it up and use yarn…)

use massive amounts of ModPodge and glitter…

and hot glue

and a recycled Barbie

Carry on. And may your posts reflect some of the messier bits…
