You can talk story with the crew of the Hokule’a and learn how to go from canoe to classroom with what you learned.

If you can’t get to Hawaii, you can still learn a lot from the Polynesian Voyaging Society’s website, and carry that into a teaching situation.

Moana makes a great springing off point for lots of stuff from ecology, to ocean to sailing and wayfinding to Polynesian cultures (and their collision with European colonizers).
