Follow that canoe: of canoes and tortoises

There are only 11 types of giant tortoise on the Galapagos, down from 15 when Darwin arrived. European explorers (there were no indigenous people on the Galapagos), pirates, and introduced species took their toll. Now, the islands protect their tortoises breed and raise them in special facilities, and release them when they are big and strong enough to survive.
