swordwhale’s crafty stuff

drying flowers from Mom’s funeral bouquets…

  • that silica gel stuff: nuke it… smells funny, dries it in two minutes or so, but kills the color… you can also use kitty litter
  • hang it up: in a dark place for nearly a month
  • that silica gel stuff: place in airtight jar for a week
  • put the metal to the petal: pound the flower into a light colored cotton material, it will basically paint itself onto the cloth

You can also use sand (in an open container) instead of the sealed container of silica.
