Today we sailed along the east side of Rangiroa around 10am. This was our last visual marker prior to heading Manu Kona for Tahiti. Winds were steady and the sea was calm.

The crew blogs are peppered with Hawaiian words and the navigating skills that carried Polynesian explorers across the vast Pacific for millennia. Simply reading the blogs puts you on the rolling deck under wide skies, the sails snapping like dragon wings.

It also helps if you check out the rest of their website and look at stuff like the star compass… manu waht???

(there’s nifty educational goodies on the site)
