Groot goes tropical

In an effort to kill grass and create shade and habitat, I have filled my yard with bebe Groots…

Each has a stake marking it so I don’t mow it down, and each has a gallon jug to water it slowly so the water seeps in and does not run off.

The Evil Rabbits of Doom (where are my hawks) have occasionally nipped a few of them off, not eating them, just biting them in half.

Sometimes, they grow back.

This one was in a pot, got nipped, then sprouted out some new Grootish greens… it’s an oak (the quirrels have been busily burying acorns  all over)… but…

I think it’s an oak on vacation…
